Mitkä ovat joulukuun 2025 juhlapäivät?

Joulukuussa on Suomessa kaksi lakisääteistä yleistä vapaapäivää: itsenäisyyspäivä ja joulupäivä (Finlex – Arkipyhälaki 304/2004, 2§). Tapaninpäivä sen sijaan ei ole yleinen vapaapäivä samassa mielessä, vaikka se onkin monille vapaa työehtosopimusten perusteella.

Itsenäisyyspäivä 6.12.2025

Lauantai – juhlapäivä, yleinen vapaapäivä (Almanakka – Itsenäisyyspäivä)

Itsenäisyyspäivä on Suomen kansallispäivä, jota vietetään 6. joulukuuta. Vuonna 2025 se osuu lauantaille, joten monilla on pitkä viikonloppu.

Keskiviikko – ei lakisääteinen vapaapäivä, mutta käytännössä vapaa useimmilla (Kalenteri.org – Jouluaatto 2025)

Jouluaatto on perinteisesti perheen yhteistä aikaa, ja vaikka laki ei sitä määrää vapaapäiväksi, suurin osa työpaikoista antaa henkilöstölle vapaata.

Joulupäivä on kristillinen juhla ja samalla lakisääteinen vapaapäivä. Vuonna 2025 se on torstaina, mikä mahdollistaa pitkän jouluviikonlopun.

Perjantai – ei yleinen vapaapäivä lain mukaan, mutta monilla työpaikoilla vapaapäivä (Kirkkovuosi.fi – Tapaninpäivä)

Tapaninpäivää vietetään perinteisesti kyläillen ja ulkoillen. Vaikka se ei ole yleinen vapaapäivä, useat työehtosopimukset takaavat vapaan.

Miksi tämä on tärkeää

Suomalaisille perheille joulukuun juhlapäivien sijoittuminen viikonpäiville ratkaisee, miten lomat kannattaa suunnitella. Itsenäisyyspäivän ja joulupäivän välissä on vain muutama työpäivä, joten moni käyttää lomapäiviä saadakseen pitkän vapaan.

Milloin on jouluaatto 2025?

Jouluaatto on keskiviikkona 24. joulukuuta 2025 (Time and Date – Suomen kalenteri 2025). Se osuu viikon 52 keskelle, joten joulua edeltävä maanantai ja tiistai ovat työpäiviä.

Jouluaatto on monille vuoden tärkein juhlapäivä, vaikka se ei olekaan lakisääteinen vapaapäivä. Kaupat ovat auki lyhyempään, ja julkinen liikenne kulkee rajoitetusti.

Jouluaaton vaikutus kalenteriin

Koska jouluaatto on keskiviikko, joulupäivä (torstai) ja tapaninpäivä (perjantai) tarjoavat mahdollisuuden neljän päivän vapaaseen

Vuonna 2025 jouluaaton sijoittuminen keskelle viikkoa tarkoittaa, että moni suomalainen yhdistää lomapäiviä saadakseen joululoman jo 22. joulukuuta alkaen.

Viikkonumeroiden käyttö on hyödyllistä erityisesti työvuorojen ja koulujen lukukausien suunnittelussa. Vuonna 2025 joulukuun viimeinen viikko on lyhyt, mikä kannattaa huomioida aikatauluissa.

Huomioitavaa

Vaikka ISO 8601 määrittelee viikkonumeroinnin, jotkin suomalaiset kalenterit saattavat näyttää viikon 52 jatkuvan vuodenvaihteen yli. Tarkista aina oman kalenterisi asetukset.

Mitkä ovat adventtisunnuntait joulukuussa 2025?

Adventti on kristillinen juhla-aika, joka alkaa neljäntenä sunnuntaina ennen joulupäivää (Kirkkovuosi.fi – Adventin määritelmä). Joulukuussa 2025 adventtisunnuntait sijoittuvat seuraavasti:
